The Real Housewives of Durban Season 2 episode 3: MaKhumalo makes a grand entrance, but are the ladies impressed?
What would the real housewives be without some glitz and glam? Now that would be boring! Add some drama and spice into the mix and you’ve got yourself a killer recipe for a successful reality TV show. When it comes to serving, the ladies in The Real Housewives of Durban Season 2 episode 3 certainly got the brief and understood the assignment.
What was this week’s mission? Well, they had to dress up and meet a new cast member, Thobile Makhumalo Mseleku. The now Durban-based wife is no stranger to reality TV. She was first introduced to Mzansi on the hit show Uthando Nesthembu, where she stars alongside her polygamous husband, Musa Mseleku, and his three other wives.
Nervous and anxious
Her story about not being able to have children is what made viewers love her the most and they’ve been following her journey since. For her first meeting with her fellow housewives, MaKhumalo wanted to make a lasting impression. So, she organised a black-tie event hoping to start things on a good note.
MaKhumalo was visibly nervous about hosting the ladies. She had a conversation about it with her stepdaughter Mpilo. She’s been in the 18-year-old’s life since she was seven years old and has been taking care of her like her own child. Speaking about the event, she told her stepdaughter Mpilo: “I think when you’re hosting an event and expecting everything to be a success, and people of high profile, you tend to become anxious. You can’t just relax as if you aren’t sure that everything will go well.”

Although she had never met her co-stars before, she already had an idea of the kind of person she would like to have in her life as a friend. “A person that I can get along with would be someone who knows who she is and doesn’t change colour. So, be yourself and we will get along.”
While she was sharing her thoughts about the black-tie event, the ladies were getting ready to meet their mystery host. They had no idea who had summoned them to the Beverly Hills Hotel in Durban but stuck to the theme and were dressed to impress. Some walked in with their husbands, while others decided to invite special friends. And boy, did they wait for their host! “All we can do at this point is just wait and see who is making us wait like this,” Londie said.
An underwhelming entrance
Annie was over the waiting and said: “As I sit down on the table, I am not too bothered about who the host is anymore. They are super, super late. At this point, are they even hosting the event, or do we host ourselves?”
Sadly, when MaKhumalo and her husband walked in, they didn’t really get the fireworks they were expecting. Instead, LaConco seemed a bit disappointed because she expected to see a high-profile person and private jets, at least. You know that’s how she rolls, right? She wanted Oprah Winfrey or even Beyoncé or anyone else, really. Thobile Mseleku from Durban was the last person on her mind. “I’ve never been so bored in my life,” she said.

We feel you, girl! But we at least know you’ll be able to give MaKhumalo proof that she’s worthy of some sort of excitement from you.
