Mnakwethu: Dulas’s relationships are dwindling
The show might be titled Mnakwethu: Happily Ever After, but we can assure you that there is nothing joyful about its content.
The reality series is four episodes in and we can already spot the cracks in these polygamous relationships.
Shiela and Zinhle have had enough
Some of these men have bitten off more than they can chew and their wives are not impressed with their selfish behaviour.
For example, Dulas hid from his wives the fact that he conceived a baby with an ex-girlfriend (who, it turns out, is not actually an ex at all).
His first wife, Shiela Dlamini, and second wife, Zinhle Mhlongo, did not take the news well. Zinhle was so infuriated by Dulas’s betrayal that she no longer wants to continue a married life with him.
The sit-down
Dulas met his baby mama, Zinhle Shozi, in 2018 and immediately fell in love with her.
“The first time I saw her, I loved her kind nature,” says Dulas.
Now, we are not sure if he met this lady before or after his other two wives. But, what we do know is that he conceived a child with Zinhle Shozi while still in a relationship with Shiela and Zinhle Mhlongo.
To right his wrongs, Dulas decides to have a formal sit-down with the three women to formally introduce them to each other and to allow his wives to ask any other burning questions.
Unfortunately for him, the sit-down doesn’t go as planned.
The rude baby mama
During the sit-down, Dulas explains that he hid Zinhle Shozi and the child because they are still together. The two wives initially thought that the two had broken up a while back.
His explanation infuriated Zinhle Mhlongo, as she believes that he is lying about a lot and isn’t willing to be honest.
What makes Mhlongo angrier is that Shozi is as much of a liar as Dulas. Plus, Mhlongo deems Shozi to be very disrespectful.
Zinhle Shozi lied about being at Dulas’s homestead and on top of that, she makes snarky remarks at both wives during the sit-down.
Mhlongo makes it clear that she will never set foot in Dulas’s homestead ever again.
“Sisi and MaDlamini, you will never see me in this house again – this man can’t be trusted. He doesn’t keep to his word so I don’t see a future with him. There’s nothing left for me and him, I’m leaving.”
Dlamini also echoed Mhlongo’s sentiments and is deciding to cut all ties with Dulas.
“I’m glad they’ve left my man to me. I have nothing to worry about,” says Zinhle Shozi.
But Dulas isn’t the only husband struggling with his polygamous marriage – things are not looking good for Nginga or Qondisani, either.
