News Just In S1-2
Directed by Aggie Nyagari (Jane and Abel, Janjaruka), News Just In follows Justine (Melissa Kiplagat, This Is Life), a News Editor at Habari Channel who’s caught in a tumultuous love triangle between her cheating husband James (Joe Kinyua, Njoro wa Uba), and the new hire Simon (Lenana Kariba, Selina), who both happen to be co-anchors of the channel’s primetime news.
How to Find a Husband’s Lizz Njagah plays Justine’s mother Lavenda Nyota, a woman who needs to take a lesson or two on how not to meddle in her daughter’s life – especially when it comes to her dating choices. Her well-intentioned schemes – like when she pretends to have a terminal illness just so Justine’s husband can come back to her – always end up making everything worse for Justine.
News Just In also features Gerald Langiri (Inherited, Fundimentals), Angela Nancie and Asha Mutuku, Mumbi Maina (Kati Kati, Sense8) who plays herself, Florence Nduta (Lies That Bind), as well a brief appearance by Alex Konstantaras and Likarion Wainaina (Supa Modo) – both who are known to make a cameo in their own productions.
