Ordinary Joe
The Wonder Years meets This Is Us as James Wolk gets not one but three jobs! He plays college graduate Joe Kimbreau in this coming-of-age drama series – and Joe doesn’t know what he wants to do. That’s because he can imagine three different paths… but only one truly resonates with his heart.
This is how it plays out: Joe is earning his degree, but he doesn’t have insight into his future. He can become a cop to honour his dad (life #1). He can become a rockstar because he loves music and he’s pretty good with a guitar (life #2). Or he can become a nurse and get married to his sweetheart (life #3). Each has its pros and cons that play out in the episodes, while hopping between the lives (that’s the This Is Us vibe, where instead of three time periods, it’s three versions of the same guy).
It’s a cute and fun series with tearjerking moments. But it’s also cool because you get the idea that your future is in your hands, and you can do what you want with your life.
