Part two of I Am LAYCON now streaming on Showmax
The drama continues on I Am LAYCON as episodes six to ten of the record-breaking show are now streaming first and exclusively on Showmax.
In the second half of the show, fans get an even more intimate glimpse into Laycon’s personal life as we see him weather ill health. Laycon also gets vulnerable as he shares how much he misses his father, particularly in light of having found fame in the Big Brother Naija house.
“Someone I’ve known my whole life and I haven’t spent time with him or seen him in three years. I’m just seeing his picture: it brings back memories and having ideas of how he would have reacted to everything that is happening to me at the moment.”
But it’s not all gloom as fans also get a closer look at the special relationship between Laycon and his crew. There are also cameo appearances from music artists Mr Real and Zlatan Ibile for a music shoot. In addition, there’s an exclusive Laycon music video in an episode just for the fans.
The second half of I Am LAYCON launched on Showmax at midnight with the hashtag #IAmLayconShowmax, quickly making the top 10 Twitter Nigeria trend list as fans tweeted in excitement.
I Am LAYCON, the first Showmax Original from Nigeria, premiered on February 11th and went on to break first-day streaming records for the platform in Nigeria, beating out shows like Mercy & Ike and Big Brother Naija.
Speaking on the record-breaking feat of his show, Laycon says, “I’m very grateful to the fans for all the love they’ve shown I Am LAYCON. Anyone who knows me knows that music is extremely important to me and I’m glad my fans can get a glimpse into the process that goes into creating it, and meet the people who are helping me achieve my dreams.”
