Scoob! (2020)
Ever wondered how the Mystery Inc crimefighters came to be? This cute animation sees an adult Shaggy and his snack-obsessed Great Dane Scooby-Doo abducted by “aliens”, leaving their pals – Velma, Fred and Daphne – to go back in time to rescue the pair. And that’s where the fun starts…
The voice cast alone makes this worth the watch – everyone from Young Sheldon’s Iain Armitage as Young Shaggy, to Mark Wahlberg, Zac Efron, Tracey Morgan and Simon Cowell himself, who lend their voices to other characters. The animation is slick and polished. The storyline is cute. And the action is fun! Plus there are loads of Scooby-Snacks for older fans who’ll recognise Warner Bros. characters like Dastardly and Muttley scattered throughout the movie.
It’s 93 minutes long which may be a bit long for your little people in one sitting, but it’s loads of fun and is perfect for family movie time.
Director Tony Cervone will head up the sequel and said, “This movie is a tribute and love letter to the show’s owner studio, Hanna-Barbera”.
