Showmax and MTN make it easy for customers to watch The Real Housewives of Lagos
Ahead of the launch of the most talked-about reality show the country has ever seen, The Real Housewives of Lagos (RHOLagos), Showmax has partnered with MTN Nigeria to make it easier and more cost-effective for customers to pay for their Showmax subscription, get data and watch the highly anticipated show on the streaming platform.
From April 8, 2022, the special deal from MTN and Showmax will allow MTN customers to be able to go into their MTN apps or visit www.showmax.com/mtn and pay for a 30-day Showmax Mobile or Showmax Pro Mobile subscription using their airtime and get great value data at a discount.
Speaking on the partnership, Nathan Hanley, Chief Expansion Officer at Showmax says, “We are constantly innovating to meet the needs of the mobile-first continent that is Africa. We’ve introduced mobile-only versions of Showmax at reduced subscription prices, and using the settings on the Showmax app, viewers are able to use less than 100MB an hour to stream their favourite shows. Now MTN customers in Nigeria are able to pay for their Showmax subscription and streaming data using their airtime, another way we’re meeting our customers’ need for a mobile-friendly streaming service.”
The goal of this strategic partnership, according to Aisha Umar Mumuni, the acting Chief Digital Officer of MTN Nigeria, is “To provide Nigerians with affordable access to premium entertainment. As a digital solutions provider, MTN will continue to provide our customers with quality content, through partnerships that advance creativity, innovation, entertainment, and celebrate our culture.”
Starring Carolyna Hutchings, Laura Ikeji-Kanu, Chioma Ikokwu, Toyin Lawani-Adebayo, Iyabo Ojo and Mariam Timmer, RHOLagos is a Showmax Original series and is the first Nigerian instalment of the award-winning franchise distributed internationally by NBCUniversal Formats, a division of Universal Studio Group. Viewers can expect to see big personalities, drama, glamour and power moves in the heart of Africa’s most vibrant, colourful metropolis.
RHOLagos joins local Showmax Originals that include I Am LAYCON, starring BBNaija 5 winner and musician Laycon Olamilekan Agbeleshe; Ghana Jollof, produced by and starring comedian Basketmouth, and the popular talk show hosted by Toke Makinwa, BBNaija: The Buzz.
