The Equalizer 3 (2023)
Two-time Oscar winner Denzel Washington once again teams up with his Training Day director Antoine Fuqua to bring us the third and final chapter of The Equalizer.
Since giving up his life as a government assassin, Robert McCall (Washington) has struggled to reconcile the horrific things he’s done in the past, finding a strange solace in serving justice on behalf of the oppressed.
Finding himself surprisingly at home in Southern Italy, he discovers his new friends are under the control of local crime bosses. As events turn deadly, McCall knows what he has to do: become his friends’ protector by taking on the mafia.
The #31 biggest box office hit of 2023, The Equalizer 3 was nominated for the 2024 Saturn Award for Best Action/Adventure Film. Independent (UK) says the film “neatly counterbalances Fuqua’s baroque, blood-and-guts action with Washington’s ability to command attention while sitting perfectly still,” and New York Magazine/Vulture says, “It delivers the goods, thanks to Washington’s performance and Fuqua’s zest for going graphic.”
Once again penned by Richard Wenk (The Expendables, Jack Reacher: Never Go Back), the film’s supporting cast includes Critics Choice Award winner Dakota Fanning (who starred opposite Washington in Man on Fire at just 10 years old), Screen Actors Guild Award winner David Denman (13 Hours, Mare of Easttown), and award winner Remo Girone (Enzo Ferrari in Le Mans ‘66).
