The Queen’s Dineo Moeketsi and her real-life fairytale romance
You might have seen Dineo Moeketsi’s character Kea on The Queen struggling when it comes to her love life.
Since the show first aired on Mzansi Magic a few years ago, we’ve seen Kea splitting up from her husband just a short while after they got married. Although that was quite a painful breakup, Kea gave love another chance a few times, and, just when she thought she had found her happily ever after with Tebogo, she soon discovered that he was a liar and an abuser. Their fairytale was short-lived, and viewers wondered if she’d ever find “the one”.
While her on-screen character has bad luck when it comes to matters of the heart, in real life, Dineo is winning when it comes to this love thing. The actress, who also has an amazing singing voice, started the year on a good note. The actress and TV presenter celebrated seven years with her partner, Solo, who’s a local rapper.
“I never made it a prerequisite that my partner must be in the industry. When I met him he was an accountant. I only learnt later that he was in the industry,” she explained during an interview on Metro FM three years ago.
When they met, they probably had no idea that they’d be where they are today – seven years later, and still going strong. To celebrate their anniversary, the couple jetted off to an island and had the time of their lives.

In 2018, it was reported that the lovebirds were planning to get married. Although we haven’t seen a wedding yet, it’s very clear that this relationship is serious. In December 2018, Solo took to his Instagram page to reflect on the day he paid lobola for Dineo.
He wrote: “This time last year, I had sent a delegation to negotiate amalobola. I had also gone through an initiation. I rounded off the year, focusing on my family and tradition. At 30 years old, my priorities are different. My understanding of identity is different. It’s everything to me. Everything connects in my life. My art, my spirituality and my family. Let no man attempt to dismantle what I am building.”

If this isn’t a clear indication of where their romance is headed, we don’t know what is. We’ve watched been watching the couple for a few years and we must say that it’s refreshing to see a celebrity relationship that is not splashed all over the tabloids for all the wrong reasons.
While Dineo has clearly found her soulmate in real life, we can’t help but wonder if her character Kea will ever meet the love of her life. Well, the year is still fresh and who knows, she could just be as lucky on screen as she is in real life when it comes to love.
If you’re also curious about whether or not she’ll meet “the one” this year, watch The Queen right here on Showmax. New episodes arrive express from the Mzansi Magic broadcast.
