The Real Housewives of Durban Season 2 episode 1: A new start, but some old beef
Out with the old, in with the new! That’s the theme that Nonku wants to focus on in The Real Housewives of Durban Season 2 episode 1. The businesswoman has made it her mission to start on a clean slate, even deciding to host a dinner for the ladies themed “Spring has sprung”. This, according to her, is a chance for revival and the beginning of a new era.
“I want to start this on a positive note. I want to make sure that everything is perfect,” she said. However, you can’t really move on without completely addressing the past, right? Well, at least that’s what her fellow housewives Annie and LaConco believe.
While they honoured Nonku’s invite and showed up to her house party, they had a lot of questions for her about what happened at the Season 1 reunion. Basically, Nonku and her mother, Queen, said a lot of things to their former castmate Ayanda Ncwane and they left everyone in a sour mood.
LaConco questions Nonku and her mother’s intentions
Ayanda’s late husband, gospel singer Sfiso Ncwane, had a daughter with Nonku. At the reunion, Nonku and her mother expressed that it was Ayanda’s responsibility to pay damages for the teenager. This clearly made Ayanda emotional, and she walked out of the reunion.
“The last time we saw each other, it was during that awkward moment that had to do with Ayanda and the Williams family,” LaConco said while addressing Queen at Nonku’s Spring party. Queen replied “Do you want me to be frank, to be honest? I felt that she [Ayanda] was like making it up… Nonku does not need her money. Not in a bad way, but it’s a fact.”
Is Nonku a victim?
Nonku said Ayanda’s reaction was “beneath her”. “And I was really really hurt, which you could tell. It was unfortunate that even today, what I had intended – which was for my child, Nothile, to have a relationship with her siblings – it’s not even happening today,” she added.
Nonku and Queen don’t seem think they said anything wrong to Ayanda and believe that they had good intentions. Did they really not mean any harm with their words or are they just trying to defend themselves? It’s still early days and we guess the truth will reveal itself one of these days!
