The Real Housewives of Durban S3: Maria Valaskatzis is bringing style, elegance and grace to this season
This season of The Real Housewives of Durban is proving to be entertainment beyond the usual. The wives are back to give viewers what they want, and they’re not holding anything back. The show kicked off earlier this month with four returning cast members, and three new ladies.
Maria Valaskatzis is one of the new women making her debut on the show this season. The Durban-based mother of one is married to a surgeon and has described herself as “high maintenance”. When we caught up with her ahead of the new season, she shared her excitement about being part of the hit Showmax Original reality show.

According to her, people who are intelligent and level-headed will really love her on the show. Who else is going to like Maria’s vibe? She added: “Somebody that sees situations from different angles and somebody that has different styles, grace and elegance.”
While this is still all new to her, she’s enjoyed the journey so far, especially getting to know the other ladies. “They all have different personalities, they come from different cultures and one of the things I value most is culture. I love learning about different cultures.” Although the journey has been lovely, Maria mentioned that it hasn’t been that easy.
“I’ve kind of been thrown in the deep end and kind of [have to] navigate my way through all these ladies and their different beliefs, attributes and values,” she said during our interview.
Maria prides herself on being a person with style, elegance and grace. She also believes that she’s a triple threat. “I have beauty, I have intelligence and I have talent, darling.”
