The Real Housewives of Lagos episode 8 recap: 3 moments that had us screaming vawulence
In The Real Housewives of Lagos episode 8, the ladies proved to us that truly, wahala be like bicycle, e no dey hard to start.
Following the heated exchange between Carolyna and Laura via Whatsapp over late-coming, Iyabo invites the ladies over for an emergency meeting. But before we can say The Real Housewives of Lagos, the vawulence is unleashed!
From Toyin confronting Laura, to Carolyna and Laura almost coming to blows, here are all the moments that had us screaming OMG this week on The Real Housewives of Lagos.
Iyabo gives it to Laura hot hot
We knew we were in for an episode of major gbas gbos when Aunty Iyabo kicked the emergency meeting off telling Laura that seeing as she was also a major latecomer, she had no moral standing to complain about Chioma and Carolyna’s lateness.
“You’re a latecomer. So for a latecomer that comes early for once is complaining, it’s funny and strange.”
Ghen ghen.
She goes on to tell Laura that she is one of the major reasons why the meeting is being held because she makes everything about her. Iyabo went on to point out that even though Laura is quick to complain and be moody when the ladies meet up, she shuns every attempt to address whatever issue is bugging her.
We stan a straight shooter who says things as they are.
Toyin comes for Laura
Toyin and Laura have had a cordial relationship through their run so far on The Real Housewives of Lagos and beyond, but this week, things were about to change.
Trouble started after Iyabo pointed out to Laura that she had been rude to Toyin at Mariam’s dinner party. Not missing a beat, Toyin chimed in saying:
“Laura, you’re my friend but when you’re wrong, you’re wrong. I’ll tell you you’re wrong.”
However, Laura wasn’t having it as she retorted saying “when there’s a gathering of the ladies I’m always wrong. Don’t do that!”
The ladies would go on to have a heated exchange with Laura expressing disappointment that Toyin would never support her in front of the ladies, and Toyin maintaining that she will always point out when Laura is wrong, regardless of their friendship.
Capping her disappointment in her diary session, Laura stated: “With a friend like Toyin, who needs enemies?”
Friendship in the mud.
Carolyna and Laura go hard
Earlier in the season, we had seen some major gbas gbos between Laura and Carolyna after Laura told Carolyna to keep her sister’s name out of her mouth. Last week, the ladies also had a heated WhatsApp exchange. However, this week, major vawulence was unleashed between the pair.
After Toyin and Laura had their moment, and Mariam addressed Laura’s rude remarks at the dinner table, Carolyna took the floor and went in hard on Laura.
“You have insecurity issues. You want drama with us because it makes you look good,” Carolyna fired at Laura. On her part, Laura insisted that Carolyna was lying. But things took a seriously vawulent turn when Laura stated that if Carolyna mentioned her sister again she would “physically harm her” to which Carolyna responded, “you should do that now”.
Gbas gbos.
Taking that as her cue, Laura gets up and lunges at Carolyna but is quickly held back by the rest of the ladies, amidst insults and threats of bodily harm.
Just when we think things can’t get any more chaotic, Carolyna throws the accusation that contrary to the story Laura shared about trying to sell her book to a certain Nigerian governor, Laura was in fact brought before the governor to be pimped.
Wahalur!
From this point, things go further downhill with the ladies hurling water and even more curses at each other.
We weren’t ready for this!
