The Real Housewives of Lagos Reunion Part 2: All’s well that ends well … or not?
Wasn’t it just yesterday we were counting how many sleeps left to the premiere of The Real Housewives of Lagos? Apparently, 15 weeks have gone by and we’re now bidding farewell to our fave drama queens.
In the second half of the Reunion, Toyin and Chioma go at each other, Mariam makes a revelation that has us shook, and Chioma and Carolyna call it quits.
Here are all the moments from the episode that had us screaming “OMG!”.
Toyin vs Chioma
At the start of the show, Uti asked Chioma what she meant when she said “there’s nothing to compete with” in reference to the apparent competition between herself and Toyin. In response, Chioma pretty much said, “I don’t watch what other people are doing, I like to focus on my focus”.
Toyin then brings up the moment when she arrived at Laura’s fashion show and met Chioma there. According to Toyin, Chioma deliberately hung back to do her makeup and make a grand entrance.
She also states that Chioma’s previous comments were “watering down her brand” that was her “life’s work” and goes on to speak about a time she went to Chioma’s establishment and ate bad meat, but never went public to say it.
Expectedly, at this point Chioma loses her cool and makes a rebuttal, and before we can say The Real Housewives of Lagos, the ladies get into a shouting match, with Toyin accusing Chioma of being a mean girl, and Chioma accusing her of being jealous and competitive.
Meanwhile the whole time Carolyna is like:
In spite of pleas from their fellow cast members and Uti to rein it in, Toyin and Chioma continue to go at each other, and after a while, Mariam walks off the set. At one point, Toyin lunges at Chioma but is held back by Iyabo and eventually walks off the set for two hours.
Talk about a literal gbas gbos.
Mariam returns Carolyna’s gift
Mariam had us all confused when she announced that she had a gift for Carolyna, only for her to return the scarf Carolyna had apparently gifted her earlier in the season.
Okayy.
The backstory to Mariam’s action was that Chioma (aka Carolyna’s former BFF) had shared some damaging things Carolyna reportedly about said Mariam with her. According to Mariam, Chioma revealed that Carolyna never wanted to honour Mariam’s dinner invite, and also wanted Chioma to do the same.
Carolyna had warned Chioma to be careful while at Mariam’s and make sure that any water she drinks is opened in her presence “or else she’s going to use your star because people like them use jazz”.
Mariam went on to express her hurt at what Chioma had revealed, pointing out that she had never said anything bad about Carolyna.
Heavy stuff.
Chioma vs Carolyna
Still on the back of Mariam’s shocking revelation about Carolyna, Chioma takes the floor to tell her own side of the story. She pretty much corroborates everything Mariam has said and reveals that she and Carolyna had bonded over the fact that they felt some of the other ladies were razz.
Wawu.
Carolyna, who seems pretty shook by what Chioma is saying, accuses her of being the “queen of lies and a terrible gossip”. In the end, the ladies agree their friendship can’t be redeemed, dashing all hopes of restoring our much-loved sismance.
