The River: Cobra’s plan goes wrong and Lindiwe searches for the truth
Will there ever be a time when Cobra’s name is not synonymous with crime? After three years of watching The River, we’re convinced that this man will never change his ways! He’s been involved in all kinds of criminal activity and although he’s had several chances to get his act together, he always seems to choose crime. What has he gotten himself into now? Well, we’re glad you asked.
The recent passing of his mother has really shaken Cobra. Not only is he grieving, but he’s also found himself in a situation that has left him with no choice but to turn to Oupa and Percy for help. This comes after the Mokoenas learned that Malefu had incurred debt as a result of her cancer treatment.
Cobra and his friends are trapped
Being the man of the house, Cobra took it upon himself to make a plan and we all know that his solutions always involve taking things that don’t belong to him. We’ll give him props for trying to make money from selling his mother’s blankets in order to raise some funds. That obviously didn’t yield the desired results so the next best thing was to rope his boys in and pull off yet another crime.
So, off they went to a local butchery. What they thought would be a quick and easy job ended up being a nightmare for the trio. They successfully managed to tie up the employee and then made their way to the refrigerator. While the three friends were under the impression that they had pulled this off, the refrigerator door closed and they couldn’t make their way out. Now they’re trapped inside!
Zolani connects the dots
Meanwhile, on the other side of town, Tumi is having serious problems of her own. Her secret was recently discovered by her brother-in-law, Mabutho. Although he knows the truth behind Mbali’s death, he has promised to not tell anyone about it and even made it clear that he would help Tumi to protect the secret.
She should be thanking her lucky stars because Lindiwe doesn’t have a single suspicion about her involvement in Mbali’s accident. Instead, the mining mogul has been fixated on the possibility that Tshabalala had something to do with her late daughter’s car crash.
She even tried to kill the police officer because she’s convinced that he masterminded the whole thing. Her plan to get rid of Tshabalala didn’t work because Tumi walked in while she and Zolani were torturing him. Lindiwe told Tumi to leave and forget what she had seen. However, Lindiwe and Zolani made the mistake of not finishing him off and that’s when Tumi was able to come back and set him free.
She did the right thing, but now this means that Lindiwe and her nephew might need to look in a different direction for the killer. And, to make things worse, Zolani has come up with conspiracy theories about Tumi’s involvement in Mbali’s death. However, Lindiwe doesn’t want to hear any of it.
The clock is ticking and Tumi had better do something before her cover is blown. Will she reach out to Mabutho for help? Watch The River on Showmax for the latest. New episodes air 15 minutes after the DStv broadcast.
