The River: Lindiwe learns the truth about Mbali’s accident
After everything Lindiwe has been through in the last few weeks, everyone understands why she hasn’t been herself lately. Although everyone in the Dikana family is still grieving, the businesswoman is taking it the hardest.
She’s not only saddened by her daughter’s passing but is also haunted by the fact that their last conversation was an ugly war of words. But maybe she’ll stop being so hard on herself now that she knows what really caused Mbali’s accident. Before we get to how she discovered the truth, let’s take you through her recovery process.
Lindiwe’s condition worries everyone
Lindiwe’s road to recovery has been rather difficult, and things escalated quickly after Tumi found her floating in the swimming pool.
After the incident the family really started panicking and Zweli even considered taking her to a psychiatric hospital. She told his wife that he’d get her the best professional help in the world. Meanwhile, Zolani was also working on getting help.
Francina told them that the whole situation could have been avoided if Lindiwe treated people better. She also mentioned that the worst is still coming. Francina told Zolani: “Lindiwe is far from getting better. More deaths are coming her way.” However, despite Zolani and Zweli’s efforts, Lindiwe’s condition remained the same.
Tough love
It was only until Tumi decided to have a difficult conversation with her mother that she started responding. Tumi’s intention was to get Lindiwe to “come back to life” and it looks like she got through to her. She told her mother that she’s weak and is only able to live when life is good. Lindiwe lost it after Tumi brought up the fact that she’s giving up after only losing one child.
Tumi then reminded Lindiwe about her tough upbringing. “You survived abuse. You survived teenage pregnancy and today you are the most powerful mining magnate…”
Lindiwe sobbed after Tumi mentioned that although she had taken a lot of loved ones away from their families, they still moved on with their lives. Basically, she reminded her mother that she’s not the first person to lose someone. This was a major breakthrough because it got Lindiwe to open up about her feelings.
“I’m being punished. My hands are covered in my daughter’s blood,” she told Tumi. That conversation really saved the day because Lindiwe was back to her normal self the following morning. Zweli had the biggest smile on his face when she surprised him with breakfast. She told him that Tumi had pulled her out of the darkness.
The truth about Mbali’s death
She then poured her heart out to Tumi and told her that she didn’t have to do all of that for her, especially because of their complicated history. It looked like everything was going to be okay between the mom and daughter.
We doubt that Lindiwe and Tumi will be able to play happy families for too long because just after their heart-to-heart, Tshabalala made his way to the Dikana mansion. He told Zolani and Lindiwe that Mbali’s car crash wasn’t an accident and that someone had tampered with the brakes.
As expected, the news made Lindiwe angry. It’s unfortunate that this is happening just when Lindiwe and Tumi’s relationship is starting to get better. Now we can’t help but wonder what she’ll do if she ever finds out that Tumi is the culprit. Things are about to get interesting and you cannot miss any of the action!
