The River: Tumi and Beauty fight over Lindani
What started as a one-night stand with Beauty quickly turned into a nightmare for Lindani. After a night of fun at the tavern, the mine-worker and Beauty kissed and went home together. This was the beginning of the trouble and although he made it clear that he didn’t want anything serious with her, Beauty caught feelings. She became so attached that she even confessed to being in love with Lindani. The hairdresser even demanded a relationship.
Of course, we all know that Lindani’s heart belongs to Tumi. He’s always loved her, and it turns out, Tumi also feels the same way about him. While Lindani and Beauty were fooling around, Tumi was planning her future with Lindani. She organised a romantic evening, invited him and came clean about her feelings. Lindani responded by telling Tumi that he’s been waiting to hear those words from her, and the former lovers kissed and made up.
Unfortunately, their happy reunion turned sour after Beauty found them at the tavern together. She told Tumi to stay away from her man. Meanwhile, Tumi was shocked to hear what her best friend was talking about and before she could hear the whole story, Beauty slapped her, and they started fighting.
Dambisa scams Andile
Dambisa Dikana has got to be one of the most dramatic people we’ve seen on The River. Double D, as she is affectionately known, has been trying her utmost to convince everyone that she’s a victim. After Zweli and Lindiwe refused to fall for her scam, she reacted like her whole life was falling apart. Andile, who happens to be her favourite person in the family, felt sorry for his aunt and gave her R300 000 to fund her fake business.
He gave her the money even after his parents warned him not to believe Dambisa’s lies. However, what he doesn’t know is that there is no business, and that Dambisa is only trying to return the money that she took from the Dikana Social Club. What’s worse is that the Dikana family created the initiative in order to assist disadvantaged relatives.
Will Dambisa’s lies catch up with her?
In a twist of events, Dambisa eventually succeeded in convincing Zweli that she was starting a legit business. He told the whole family, including his mother, to support Dambisa’s new venture and vowed to be by her side every step of the way.
When Dambisa realised that Zweli wanted to be involved in the business, she freaked out because she could tell that her lie would be exposed. She would obviously have to buy those machines that she’s been telling everyone about, which would lead to her losing all the money she’s supposed to put back into the Dikana Social Club.
So, in order to distract everyone from her business and the money she received from Andile, Dambisa cooked up a dramatic plan. She came home crying and had bruises all over her face. When asked what had happened, she said she was mugged and that someone attempted to rape her.
Will everyone buy her story? Or will her lies finally catch up with her? Keep up with the Dikanas and Mokoenas by streaming The River just 15 minutes after the DStv broadcast.
