The River: Tumi, Dimpho and Dora in a hostage drama

If there’s one thing The River is teaching us about corruption, it’s the fact that it never ends well. Just a few months ago, Cobra found himself in a powerful position after being elected as the councillor of Refilwe. His new role also exposed him to opportunities – good and bad. However, his new role has not only put his life in danger, but Tumi and Dimpho have also been dragged into the mess.

Bullets fly at the Mokoena home

Tumi and Dimpho thought they had gained a big sister when they grew closer to Dora. After Cobra got shot, Dora made it her mission to spoil his siblings so that they wouldn’t worry too much about their injured brother. We all know that the main reason for her kindness was due to the fact that she was trying to clear her guilty conscious.

She didn’t know, however, that her secret would come out very soon. While she and the Mokoena sisters were eating at a fancy restaurant, the truth came out in the most unexpected way. Tumi saw Dora’s phone screensaver and it was the same car that drove off after Cobra was shot. She confronted Dora about this after she dropped them off at home and Dora wasn’t happy.

She took out a gun and that’s when the hostage drama started. Things got worse when Beauty walked in and was shot by Dora. Somewhere between trying to get Dora to calm down and to make sure that Beauty was fine, Dimpho managed to get her phone out and record what was happening. Word got out and there were suddenly a lot of people standing outside the house, hoping that Dora would come to her senses and let the girls go. Dora eventually realised that she had no choice but to hand herself in. But before going outside the house, she instructed Dimpho to come with her, pointed a gun at her, while Tumi’s gun was aimed at Dora.

Before we knew it, gunshots were heard and we’re now dying to find out who got shot.

Lindiwe gets her way

We don’t know what Zweli was thinking when he allowed Lindiwe to come back into his house. The last time we checked, he wanted nothing to do with his ex-wife but after much convincing from his children, Zweli agreed to let Lindiwe and Zolani to come and live in the cottage. He had rules, though – they’re not allowed to go inside the house. But we all know how ruthless Lindiwe is and how she always needs to get her way, so it’s no surprise that she tried to worm her way back in.

She lied to Mbali and Andile and told them that Gail had told her to stay in the cottage and never go inside the main house. If you’ve been following the telenovela for the last couple of weeks, you would have seen that Lindiwe’s kids have a soft spot for her, especially Mbali. They made it a point to confront their father about the situation and guess what? Lindiwe got what she wanted.

We don’t know about you but we have a bad feeling about this living arrangement. It’s not in Lindiwe’s nature to just sit around and not get what she wants. She’s made it very clear that she wants to get Zweli back and will do everything in her power to win him over. Is it only a matter of time before Gail finds herself out in the cold? And Lindiwe now has the kids on her side so it won’t be difficult for her to achieve this.

Things are getting heated and you can’t afford to miss out. Make sure you catch The River on Showmax. New episodes air 15 minutes after the DStv broadcast.
