The River: Walter turns residents against Lindiwe
It’s 2019 and Lindiwe Dikana is still up to her old tricks. She’s obviously not part of the “new year, new me” movement. We can’t say we’re surprised, though. If you’re wondering what she’s done this time, check out our quick recap and then stream the latest episodes of The River on Showmax.
Not so fast, Lindiwe
Just when Lindiwe thought she had gotten away with fooling Refilwe residents, she realised that it won’t be that easy. In case you forgot, a few months ago, Lindiwe tricked residents to sign their land away and promised to build them houses. What they don’t know, however, is that the housing project she’s been telling them about it just a scam.
Last week, we all watched as residents got excited about the thought of owning new houses, not knowing that they were being sold dreams. Fortunately for the community members, there’s someone who’s really clever and sees right through Lindiwe and her tricks – Walter.
He managed to show residents that they were being taken for a ride and convinced them to take action against the mining mogul. So, just as Lindiwe was celebrating the fact that her housing project would kick off soon – even going as far as hiring Tumi to be a big part of it – she was in for a surprise.
Refilwe residents decided to organise a protest, after Walter’s advice, and paid Lindiwe a surprise visit.
They want new houses first, before moving from their current homes. Honestly, what they’re asking for is not too much. It really is what they deserve. Imagine moving from your home and realising that you will never get the new house you were promised? We wonder how Lindiwe and her team, including Tumi, will react to the protest
Angelina takes her child
We think it’s very clear that Angelina knows how to play with Cobra’s emotions and she’s doing everything in her power to make sure that he’s at her mercy. If you’ve been too busy to watch The River during the festive season, you might have missed the fact that Cobra has a baby with a woman called Angelina. Although they’re not in a relationship, she thought it would a great idea to move into his home with their baby.
This is rather strange – why not just send the child to spend time with his father? Why does Angelina have to move in too?
Well, the set up worked for a while (although Angelina was a headache most times) and Malefu was really enjoying having her grandson around. But that didn’t last long – we soon found out that Angel, as she calls herself, left her grandmother’s house because she stole her pension money. Imagine!
And we all know that Malefu doesn’t associate with liars. Mrs Mokoena was quick to give Angel a piece of her mind, which led to her decision to leave the house with her son. Of course, Cobra would like to spend more time with his child, but we don’t know how that’s going to work out right now.
You know there’s a lot more drama coming your way, so you’d better keep watching The River right here on Showmax. New episodes air 15 minutes after the DStv broadcast.
