The River: What’s next for Tumi?
The River is full of surprises. The 1Magic telenovela continues to be a hit with viewers, and we completely understand why. Have you ever watched a show and thought “wow, I didn’t see that coming”. That’s exactly how feel most of the time. So, what exactly happened last week? Well, we’re glad you asked.
Oupa is not dead
We won’t lie, we were really sad after Oupa was shot by the police. Yes, he’s a criminal and probably deserved what he got. But we have a soft spot for him and were worried about whether he’d survive or not. So, according to his friends, he’s still alive and fighting for his life in hospital. Well, that’s what was said on the show earlier last week. They didn’t show him in hospital, but at least we know he’s on his way to recovery now. Will he come back as a changed man? Only time will tell.
Will Cobra ever change?
How many second chances will Cobra get in this lifetime? It seems no matter how much he tries to change, his past always comes back knocking. It’s one thing to tell people you’re a changed person, but it’s another thing to let your actions do the talking. As you know, Cobra and his friend Oupa hijacked a car. After the incident, Cobra ran to his house and acted as if nothing happened. He tried to fool his family and friends into thinking that he had nothing to do with it. We don’t blame him because he was really doing well for a while; he managed to stay out of trouble and was finally in his family’s good books. But it seems he just couldn’t stand lying to his loved ones anymore and decided to come out with the truth. Does this mean that Malefu’s prayers are falling on deaf ears? This really broke her and her daughters. Will Cobra ever turn his life around? That’s the question on everyone’s mind right now.
Tumi is out in the cold
Imagine having to choose between one of your children. That must be one of the toughest decisions any parent has to make. Last week, Malefu found herself hurting Tumi’s feelings when she took Cobra’s side. The siblings had a heated argument after Cobra confessed to being involved in the hijacking. The revelation left the family broken and divided.
While Tumi felt that it was time for her older brother to leave the house for good, Malefu made it clear that she wasn’t going to turn her back on her son, even put his hands on his sister. Tumi decided that she had had enough of her brother’s attitude, packed her bags and left. She had nowhere to go and even resorted to sleeping at work. Sad, right? But the saddest thing is that at the end, Tumi was attacked by two men. We can’t even imagine how the news will make her family feel.
