The Wife Season 3 episodes 16-18 recap: Qhawe and Naledi’s sex tape
The Wife Season 3 episodes 16-18 have dropped and there’s a lot to unpack. The Zulu brothers have found a new fortune, but will it be enough to allow them to leave the illicit businesses that have sustained them all these years? A sex tape between Qhawe and Naledi goes viral, leading to another fight for the couple, who had just made up. Meanwhile, at the Royal Thabeng, Tshedi is doing everything in her power to win her father’s favour. Will she succeed in her mission to secure chieftaincy?
Qhawe and Naledi can’t seem to catch a break
The couple has gone through various challenges in their relationship but this has to be the worst yet. Just as they make their way back to Johannesburg, Qhawe learns that on their way to Zanzibar someone put a camera inside the private jet and captured everything they got up to.
The video leaked on social media, causing a stir. Even though Qhawe tries to ensure that Naledi doesn’t find out about it during their trip, the tape is already trending at number one so she finds out, and guess who she blames? Qhawe.
Of course, they are both frustrated about the situation but little does Naledi know that it’s her sister Tshedi who is sabotaging her. But moments later, Qhawe puts two and two together and realises that it can only be one person who did this and that’s Tshedi.
He confronts her but Tshedi denies everything and, like a true sister, Naledi believes her. She is obviously not privy to Tshedi’s plans to keep her away from the royal chieftaincy. The scene ends with Naledi chasing Qhawe away instead, disgusted at the fact that he could accuse her sister of such a thing. Poor Naledi!
Chief Kgosi wants Naledi to assume her responsibility as a princess
Speaking about being disappointed, Naledi’s father has found out about the sex tape and it doesn’t take long for the old man to show up at Naledi’s doorstep, demanding that she asks for a transfer to Rustenburg.
Kgosi blames the Zulu lover and also uses the opportunity to get his daughter to reconsider marrying Sefako, reminding her why she should have chosen him in the first place. “You know that Zulu boy did this so no other man would look at you. If you’d listened to me and married Sefako, you wouldn’t be in this mess,” says Kgosi.
Meanwhile, Tshedi continues to hit a brick wall with her father. They meet to talk about Naledi and she makes it clear that her sister has dug a grave not just for herself but for the whole family. She also mentions that the video will stay online forever and there’s nothing they can do to stop people from talking. Kgosi still insists on getting Naledi to come right. There’s no way she can win this, right?
The fake diamond business might be riskier than the Zulu brothers know
There’s no shred of doubt that the Zulu family is corrupt at its core. From cash-in-transit heists to diamond scams, the brothers always have a plan up their sleeve. Not so long ago, the brothers vowed to leave behind their criminal dealings after having lost so many of their own. But while they were figuring out which business to venture into, a man presented them with a plan that could see them making a lot of money by swindling people with fake diamonds.
They plan everything and manage to swindle a few people successfully but just like any other business, it’s easy to get caught slipping. Heists go wrong and end up in a heated shoot-out that gets Mqoqi left stranded while others escape.

Trust is gained and immediately lost when a sex tape between Qhawe and Naledi goes viral.
Fresh from Zanzibar, the beloved couple is faced with yet another challenge that threatens to destroy the trust they have built. Naledi thinks it’s Qhawe who planted cameras on the private jet and leaked their sex tape on social media. What she doesn’t know is that her sister has been plotting against her for a while now. But the question is, will Tshedi’s scheming be enough to secure her the coveted chieftaincy?
The Zulu brothers were determined to go legit until an opportunity to make a lot of money presented itself. This newfound venture seems to be bringing a lot of money but the risk involved could land them in hot water once again.
