Ubizo S1-3
In the emotionally charged reality series Ubizo, gifted medium Lloyd Radebe helps his clients connect with their deceased loved ones. Through readings, Lloyd conveys messages from the spiritual world that offer his guests closure, solutions, or he frees them from their guilt.
At the start of each episode, Lloyd’s assistant Andile Shezi provides the medium with brief information about the client of the day – and by brief, we mean a name and age. Other than that, Lloyd doesn’t see or talk to his clients before the readings.
Soon after Lloyd’s chat with Andile, the client arrives at the medium’s home, and they sit at the table where they engage in the reading. In Season 3, the cases range from the clients experiencing strange dreams, struggling to solve family feuds and hearing bizarre sounds on their roof at night, and Lloyd unravels the mystery. In the first episode, Lloyd assists a woman and her mother mend their broken bond with the help of the afterlife.
While some messages aren’t easy to convey, such as telling a client that they were bewitched by an ex-boyfriend or that a family member has cast spells over them, Lloyd is empathetic in his approach. Throughout the reading, Lloyd guides the client and teaches them about the spiritual side. Ultimately, Lloyd offers the clients tools, advice and direction to resolve their problems.
