Uthando Lodumo S2: Babes and Mampintsha try to resolve their marital problems
We all know that relationships aren’t perfect, and they require a lot of work. Fortunately, this is something Babes and Mampintsha understand and they’re willing to give their all to make sure that their marriage survives the challenging times. On the latest episode of their reality show, the couple went to a counselling session in an attempt to resolve some of their marital issues.
Babes explained: “We’ve called pastor Dube to have a sit down with us and discuss all the problems caused by my husband.” The pastor asked them about how life has been since the wedding. “Things are going very well because we were able to be on the same page afterwards. Remember our families had a little feud? We ended calling up Ma,” Mampintsha shared. He told him about the family meeting and how everyone aired their grievances.
The marriage phase
After that part of the conversation, Babes shared that she had a lot to get off her chest. “There’s a lot of things I want to discuss with pastor Dube,” the mother of one said, adding that some of the things are good, while others are bad.
The pastor explained that the couple’s now in their “marriage phase”.
“We’re doing good as a married couple. Sponge came along and a lot changed since then. Mandla also stays home now, he doesn’t go out as often as he used to,” Babes said. The musician believes that there are things that need to be fixed.
“Like this morning he woke up in a foul mood, which was confusing. We tried to make conversation, he would brush me off. I could see that he was not in the mood.”
Babes wants her husband to communicate when someone is bothering him, instead of taking it out on her. “I’m shocked that he’s laughing right now because he wasn’t this morning,” she added.
Trust issues
Mampintsha got his chance to share he told Babes and pastor Dube: “I go quiet because I’m stressed about business. What’s worse is that I had such a bad dream, I even told her about it.”
Mampintsha shared the dream and guess what? Babes is convinced that that’s a made-up story. “This is exactly how he is. Mampintsha is a liar.”
Well, her husband made it clear that he won’t always wake up with a smile on his face. “My advice to married people is that every day is different. You need to establish what I call ‘me time’,” pastor Dube told the couple. He also suggested that they introduce something called “we time”.
“You can start small. Put your phone away for 20 or 30 minutes. Have a sit down as a married couple and maybe discuss business,” he said. That suggestion was well received by Babes. The singer has a lot more to get off her chest and she will reveal all on the next episode.
