Vula Vala S1
Vula Vala is a drama series set in KwaThema in Ekurhuleni. It focuses on the life of Bra Rex (Sello Maake Ka-Ncube), a retired soccer player turned club owner. He is a ruthless businessman whose past life catches up with him as he tries to revive The Scorpions, his struggling soccer team.
The drama series promises to take viewers on an emotional rollercoaster ride where family meets football, business, crime and betrayal.
Vula Vala is produced by Black Brain Pictures, which is responsible for producing award-winning shows such as Lockdown and local film Loving Thokoza.
“In this classic football family tale, the past meets the future with a star-studded cast that will dribble their way into the hearts of all Mzansi viewers. This drama will introduce viewers to what happens behind the scenes of a family-owned football club, the pursuit for happiness and to old wounds being open,” says Nomsa Philiso, Director of Local Entertainment Channels at M-Net.
The drama series assembles some of Mzansi’s best talent. Sello Maake Ka-Ncube plays Bra Rex, Tina Jaxa plays his wife, Thembi, who is hell-bent on keeping her family together, while well-known actor Darlington Michaels will play Gab, a township thug who gets entangled in their business affairs.
Vula Vala is streaming on Showmax 24 hours after the broadcast on Mzansi Magic.
