Sunday, 26 January 2020 will be marked as one of the darkest of days in sports history, after the world learned about the untimely passing of retired LA Lakers shooting guard, Kobe Bryant.
Kobe, along with nine other passengers, including his 13-year-old daughter Gianna, died in a helicopter crash while on their way to his daughter’s basketball match.
Condolences for Kobe, his family and the other victims have poured in from around the world.
To pay tribute to this sporting great, Showmax has also released a 46-minute interview with Kobe as he sits down with renowned sports anchor Ahmad Rashad and details his illustrious basketball career that spanned more than 20 years.
In the interview, we come to learn of Kobe’s incredible work ethic, his competitive nature and his love for basketball. Even though he was injured numerous times, he continued to give his all to the game until his retirement in 2016.
To him, basketball wasn’t just a sport. It was his calling. Watch a short documentary on his career with the LA Lakers as well, and marvel at his record-breaking performance alongside three-point dynamo Steph Curry.
