Why we can’t wait to binge-watch The River
If we had to pick a few shows to watch repeatedly, The River would be one of them. The plots, twists and turns are enough to make anyone fall in love with the drama series. Just when you think you’ve figured out what’s going on, things quickly take an unexpected turn. And that’s what makes good TV, right? Here’s why we can’t wait to binge-watch The River from the beginning.
1. Lindiwe Dlamini
She's manipulative, she's controlling and she suffers no fool. She's Lindiwe Dlamini and you better meet her by The River this evening at 20:00! https://t.co/XCK2DGM9Hl. pic.twitter.com/h0QFCPPJ2t

Now this is one woman you never want to mess with. Lindiwe is not just a mother and wife, she’s also a mining magnate who will stop at nothing to get what she wants (and keep it too) – even if it means killing. Some call her heartless and ruthless, while others simply admire her. She’s definitely one of the reasons why we have fallen in love with the show. We love a character that’s always up to something!
2. Whose diamond is it anyway?
Imagine discovering the biggest diamond and not being able to live to reap the rewards? What a tragedy. The first episode introduces us to one of the biggest plot twist we’ve seen in a while. How do you kill someone and take credit for their discovery? Trust us when we say you will keep watching, hoping to see if the truth will ever come out! Will the diamond’s rightful owner ever get justice?
3.Tumi and Lindiwe’s relationship
As mentioned, the first episode was an explosive one. It will leave you with more questions than answers. Wait, what’s the connection between Tumi and Lindiwe? Are they mother and daughter? Did Lindiwe really kill Tumi or was it all a dream? These are some of the questions that keep us up at night (and obviously hooked on the show).
4. Cobra Mokoena
Now this is one interesting person. A rebel, the black sheep of the family, a trouble maker! Honestly, Cobra is just one of those people we all love to hate. While first born sons usually take care of their families, this man struggles to make ends meet. Was he cheated by the system? Or is he just lazy? All we know is that we enjoy learning more about his character and can’t wait to see what will happen when he discovers the truth about his father’s death.
And the cast of #TheRiver just keeps getting better and better! 🙌 @Presley_tsotsi will be portraying Thuso Mokoena, aka "Cobra". pic.twitter.com/Frh7x1GFyj

5. The best of both worlds
The River gives us insights into what life is like on different sides of the world. You have the Mokoenas, who come from a disadvantaged background. Viewers get to see how this financially troubled family navigates the different challenges in life. On the other hand, the Dlamini family lives a comfortable life. But you know, as they say, not all that glitters is gold. The Dlaminis might seem like they have it all, but things are not as they seem. These families definitely make the show worth watching.
These are just some of the reasons why we cannot wait to binge-watch The River. If you want to see how the rest of the story will unfold, you better stay glued to Showmax!
