Adelle Onyango, Rev. Lucy Natasha, Kalonzo Musyoka and more on Stori Yangu S4
Stori Yangu, the documentary series that profiles notable personalities in Kenya, is back for a brand-new season 4 available on Maisha Magic East and Showmax.
The first of its kind in Kenya, Stori Yangu goes beyond the headlines and offers an in-depth look into the lives of notable personalities who have influenced Kenya’s past and present, thus taking the audience through the journey that defined who they are today – from the struggles to the heartbreaks to the triumphs.

In this new season, Stori Yangu presents an exciting line-up of personalities that includes Hon. Kalonzo Musyoka, celebrity pastor Reverend Lucy Natasha, the iron lady of Kenyan politics Martha Karua, AMREF Africa Group CEO Dr Githinji Gitahi, the first woman bank manager in Kenya Dr Mary Okello, Kenya Film Classification Board CEO Ezekiel Mutua, renowned media personality and BBC’s Top 100 Women (2017) Adelle Onyango, and award-winning investigative journalist John Allan-Namu.

The 2018 Kalasha nominated documentary series is created and produced by Eugene Mbugua, through his production company Documentary and Reality TV.

“It is important that we tell the stories of people who have contributed greatly to our society, whether in education, banking, politics or even media. And to pick up learnings from them and make heroes of the ones who deserve it,” Mbugua says.
More Kenyan real-life series
As a production company, Mbugua says, they choose which stories to tell by simply identifying newsmakers from different industries, and those whose contributions are not appreciated enough.

In all the four seasons of Stori Yangu, Mbugua singles out Dr Mary Okello’s story as the one that stands out most for him. Dr Okello, who is featured in episode 5 of season 4, is a woman who has pushed boundaries in the banking sector in Kenya, and in Africa. She is also the founder of the prestigious Makini Schools.
“She’s a fascinating woman who has opened doors for those who came after her. Her story is intriguing because she also shook up two different industries; banking and education,” says Mbugua.

Mbugua’s other projects include Sol Family which highlights the personal lives of Africa’s biggest band, Sauti Sol (brand new season 2 now streaming on Showmax); the Kalasha-winning wedding reality show, Our Perfect Wedding, which is also available on Showmax, KTN’s Foods of Kenya and Concert Nyumbani.

Catch new episodes of Stori Yangu every Saturday on Showmax at the same time they air on Maisha Magic East.
