Following the lives and loves of the British soldiers and their wives stationed in Aden in Yemen in the 1960s, The Last Post has been described as “Dynasty in the desert”. Alison Laithwaite (Jessica Raine), a dissatisfied housewife caught in a spiral of self-destruction, newcomer Honor Martin (Jessica Buckley) and stoical army wife Mary Markham (Amanda Drew) have to do whatever they can to survive in the harsh, isolated environment they find themselves in in the midst of the Swinging 60s.
