Looking for some action, thrill, suspense, romance and mind-blowing drama from Ghana? Here is a host of top Ghanaian stars to keep you entertained on Showmax.
Joselyn Dumas

Joselyn Dumas is celebrated for her beauty and her impeccable acting skills which have earned her a place in Ghana’s movie ‘Hall of Fame’ with roles like Potato Potahto, Shampaign and Adams Apples.
In Dede, Akwaaba Magic’s popular telenovela also available to binge on Showmax, Dumas takes on an unlikely role as Felicity, an over-the-top jealous stepmother who manages to drive away her step-daughter to work as a maid in the city. Playing a typical Ga woman, Dumas outdoes herself while cracking ribs with her wit and her caricature-like multicolored makeup.
Dumas also stars in Ghana-Nigerian hit series Ghana Jollof as Abena, an HR manager who trying to seduce her boss Kweku (James Gardiner). Other stars in the Showmax Original comedy-drama include Nigeria’s Basketmouth and Ghana’s star man, Mawuli Gavor.
You can also find her on Africa Magic’s telenovela Dilemma which follows two estranged lovers – Kaineto and Kanan – who find their way back to each other after many years of separation.
Gloria Osei-Sarfo

Known for her dominant onscreen presence, award-winning actress Gloria Osei-Sarfo is one of Ghana’s finest. In the first-ever Ghanaian Showmax Original ENO, the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCAs) winner plays Abena Baafi, a mother who is adamant to marry off her three daughters to the highest bidder.
However, as she soon finds out, her daughters have a mind of their own. The clash of ideas will keep you guessing what scheme Abena has up her sleeves next.
Miss Malaika 2018 winner Mariam Owusu-Poku, Esi Hammond and Emelia Asiedu star as Abena’s daughters, alongside John Dumelo (The Picture Perfect, A Northern Affair), Godwin Namboh (Dede, 21 Days Inside), Peter Ritchie (Azali, Terminus), Brian Angels (Inspector Bediako, The Burial of Kojo).
John Dumelo

Ghanaian loverboy John Dumelo has over the years thrilled fans with his roles in films like A Northern Affair and Ties That Bind.
In his most recent role, Dumelo plays the role of Chris Quarcoo in ENO, one of the rich suitors that Abena Baafi (Gloria Osei-Sarfo) pushes her daughters to marry.
Mawuli Gavor

Touted as Ghana’s current poster boy in the world of movies, Mawuli Gavor has earned his place as the onscreen god of our time. With his foray into Nollywood, his movies have attracted a massive fanbase not only in Ghana but in Nigeria too.
On Showmax, Mawuli Gavor stars in the comedy-drama series Ghana Jollof as loverboy Tony trying everything to win the heart of Juliet (Portia Freelove), the daughter of a wealthy man. The series also stars James Gardiner, Joselyn Dumas (Dede, Dilemma), Jacinta Ocansey, Kalybos (Inspector Bediako) and Nigeria’s Basketmouth and Buchi.
Adjetey Anang

Popularly known as “Pusher” for his iconic role in hit teen series Things We Do For Love, Adjetey Anang has stayed relevant in the Ghanaian movie industry for almost two decades, charting the path for many to follow.
In the telenovela Dede, Anang plays Nii Ocansey, a dedicated father who would move heaven and earth to see his intelligent daughter Dede get into university, even if it means fighting off opposition from his jealous wife Felicity (played by Joselyn Dumas).
You can also find Anang on the hit drama series To Have and To Hold as Nii, a good-for-nothing husband whose gambling problems and lies threaten to ruin his marriage.
Lydia Forson

After her first role in Shirley Frimpong Manso’s 2008 movie Scorned, Lydia Forson has never looked back. Roselyn Ngissah

If you are looking for an actress who can switch from playing a rich aunty role to a school girl or a hardened street girl, then Roselyn Ngissah is your point woman.
In the Ghanaian sitcom Tanko Villa on Showmax, Roselyn plays Mrs Tanko, the landlord’s wife who will crack your ribs with her schemes as she sets outrageous rules for her tenants to follow.
Roselyn also stars in To Have And To Hold and in Inside Out, a Ghanaian drama series adapted from the South African series Housekeepers.

Clemento stars in To Have And To Hold as Adjetey Anang’s friend Agbo who’s always up to no good and doesn’t take life too seriously.
