Why Women Kill S1-2
Why Women Kill consists of two ten-episode anthology series – so you can dip into S2 without watching S1 if you really want to. Created by Emmy nominee Marc Cherry (Desperate Housewives, Devious Maids), the series has an 8.3/10 score on IMDb, with an 83% critics rating on Rotten Tomatoes for Season 2.
Season 1 follows the stories of three women, one house, and multiple infidelities. Though separated by decades, picture-perfect 60s couple Beth and Rob, 80s socialite Simone and her third husband Karl, and modern-day attorney Taylor and her open-marriage husband Eli share a Pasadena mansion – and a propensity for keeping secrets.
The cast includes Emmy nominee Lucy Liu (Kill Bill, Charlie’s Angels), People’s Choice nominee Ginnifer Goodwin (Walk the Line, Once Upon a Time), Teen Choice nominees Jack Davenport (Pirates of the Caribbean, The Talented Mr. Ripley) and Alexandra Daddario (American Horror Story, True Detective) and Emmy nominee Reid Scott (Veep’s Dan Egan).
Emmy nominee Allison Tolman (Fargo, Good Girls) headlines Season 2 as Alma Fillcot, a frumpy 1940s housewife desperate to join an exclusive local garden club, presided over by Rita Castillo (Teen Choice Award winner Lana Parrilla from 24, Once Upon a Time). Veronica Falcón (Ozark, Perry Mason, Perpetual Grace LTD.), MTV Movie Award nominee Nick Frost (Fighting with My Family, The Nevers, Shaun of the Dead) and Teen Choice Award winner Matthew Daddario (whose older sister Alexandra played Jade last season) co-star.
Even more star-studded is the line-up of directors this season: Desperate Housewives’ Emmy-nominated director-producer, Larry Shaw; Housewives star, Emmy and Golden Globe nominee Eva Longoria; Growing Pains star and Emmy-nominated director, Joanna Kerns; BAFTA nominee Jennifer Getzinger (Mad Men, Westworld, How to Get Away with Murder); and Emmy winner Melanie Mayron (Jane the Virgin, Pretty Little Liars, Thirtysomething).
Why Women Kill is unfortunately no longer available on Showmax.
