“Gogo needs to go to sleep”: Episode 3 of Temptation Island turns up the heat

Hearts on fire

The episode begins with the cliffhanger from episode 2, in which the four women were seated at their first bonfire with host Phat Joe. They all watched in shock as their boyfriends formed connections with each of their front-runners.

The session gives Musa, Estelle and Precious much-needed clarity ahead of their second dates. Nthabi, on the other hand, starts doubting MJ’s loyalty when she sees him drawing closer to his crush Bontle on their picnic date. The worst part for Nthabi is hearing MJ compliment Bontle and tell her, “[You have] soft lips, hey.”

Nthabi’s blood is boiling, and she is convinced that MJ and Bontle kissed. While nothing happened between MJ and Bontle, no one is going to tell Nthabi that until the end of the journey. So for now, she’s left wondering and with a million thoughts racing through her head about MJ and Bontle’s bond.

Adding fuel to the fire

The women aren’t the only ones who receive invites to join Phat Joe at the bonfire – their boyfriends are up next. The men get a peek into the women’s journey too.

MJ attempts to downplay his irritation with a wry smile after seeing Nthabi on a date with his rival CeeJay. After much probing from Joe, MJ’s mask comes off and he reveals his insecurities when he refers to CeeJay as “a little puppy while [MJ] is a lion”.

One person who can’t hide his emotions after seeing his girlfriend cosy with another man is Grant. His heart drops when he witnesses Precious and Dain’s chemistry onscreen. If Grant only knew that Precious can’t get Dain out of her head…

Just what the doctor ordered

To settle the four women’s nerves after an emotionally exhausting week, the single guys organise a doctors-and-nurses dress-up party. The ladies change into their skimpy outfits while the men perform a sexy number, led by our resident exotic dancer and firefighter Muggz. The heat is certainly on!

In Muggz’s words, “Mzansi, I strongly advise that you send the kids to bed and Gogo… She needs to go to sleep because we don’t want anything to happen [to her when the shirts come off and the men grind on chairs in their underwear and lab coats].”

Stay tuned for next week’s episode as the single ladies arrange a dress-up at the men’s villa.

The moments in episode 3 that had our jaws dropping

S’bu shows his true colours

With none of the women paying him attention, S’bu throws a tantrum. He gets under Precious’s skin and makes everyone in the women’s villa uncomfortable with his antagonistic remarks.

When he’s called out on his actions, he has a mini episode, ranting, “I’m on top of the food chain. I’m way flyer than you. I’m even flyer than your man. I’m too fresh for this. I can do better – I’ve done way better.” With the women eliminating a man out of their villa soon, S’bu might be on the chopping block.

Sifiso steps into the garden of Eden

Before his second date, Sifiso pulls his frontrunners Dimpho and Palesa aside to drop a bombshell on them. He tells them that he’ll be taking Eve, the woman who’s caught his eye, on a date.

While both women are disappointed that he’s pulling away from them, they give him their “blessings” to get to know Eve better. On the date, Sifiso reveals that he could see himself falling for Eve. “I want to try that apple out,” says Sifiso.
