Gomora S2: Melusi’s messy love triangle is troublesome
One thing that makes Gomora one of the best telenovelas in Mzansi is its ability to keep viewers reeling in shock with every episode.
Melusi finds himself at a crossroads when it comes to his relationship with Thati and Gladys.
On the one hand, he has fallen in love with Thati again, while at home his wife, Gladys, is pregnant with their second child.
In the arms of another woman
While Melusi mourns Langa, he finds comfort in Thati. Falling back in love with Thati seems effortless and right. Both are mourning the loss of their son, and what’s even sadder for Melusi is that he recently discovered that he is Langa’s biological father. But what makes this entire situation messy is that Gladys is the reason behind Langa’s untimely death.
Thati and Melusi share a long and deep history. They are childhood lovers and rekindling their relationship after the loss of their son brings them great comfort. However, Thati is aware that reigniting this relationship means the end of Mel’s marriage to Gladys.
The moment Thati and Melusi kissed, we knew that the storyline was about to get even more dramatic.
Gladys tries to save her marriage
Melusi has been happily married to Gladys for years, but, like any other married couple, the couple is experiencing some turbulence in their relationship.
Gladys falls pregnant, but having another child was never the plan. Having Ntokozo (their first-born son) was a compromise from her side, but being pregnant for the second time proves to be an even greater compromise for Gladys.
Gladys suspects that Melusi is cheating but has no concrete proof to confirm her suspicion. To save her marriage, Gladys decides to keep the baby. She also confesses to Melusi that she aborted two pregnancies prior to the current one – a secret that only Zodwa knew all along.
Gladys’s guilt
Gladys keeps having vivid memories about Langa’s death. The guilt is eating her from within and the knowledge that she killed her husband’s son continues to give her sleepless nights.
When all is revealed, Gladys will have to beg for Thati’s forgiveness. Her family has caused Thati too much pain and trauma. Not only did she kill Thati’s son, but her son also killed Thati’s late husband during a botched hijacking incident: an incident that turned Thati’s life upside down.

It’s no surprise that the feud between Thati and Gladys has led to a bit of a divide between viewers. Some are #TeamThati, while others are #TeamGladys
