Jojo dishes on her Real Housewives of Durban journey
The Real Housewives of Durban may have ended its explosive fifth season, but the spotlight is still shining. The hit Showmax Original has just taken home the Simon Mabhunu Sabela KZN Film and Television Award for Best TV Production, a well-earned win for Let It Rain Films, the creative minds behind the show.
Over the past five seasons, The Real Housewives of Durban has seen its fair share of bold entrances and dramatic exits. One standout who’s held her ground since Season 2 is Jojo Robinson. A self-proclaimed artist and tattoo enthusiast, Jojo is married to South African kickboxing champion Calven Robinson and is a proud mom to nine-year-old Rocco.

We recently caught up with Jojo, whose on-and-off relationship with Nonku Williams has kept fans guessing and made headlines. She spilled the tea on all things Joku, life on The Real Housewives of Durban, and everything in between, and trust us, she didn’t hold back.
Now that Season 5 has wrapped, how do you feel about it?
Apart from a few really hard things, I really enjoyed this season. I loved getting to know the new girls.
How have you changed since your first season?
I am literally a whole new person. I wouldn’t even know where to start. And I look forward to the growth that will come with everything that happened in Season 5.
How do you deal with all the attention you get from being on the show?
It’s become normal life for me. I’m always happy and grateful to meet anyone who loves the show.
Who is the most surprising celebrity you’ve connected with because of the show?
Where would I even start? Through this journey, I’ve met most of our celebrities, and honestly, it would be hard to pick just one. I absolutely love Khanyi Mbau. We speak often and get compared to being sisters a lot.
What has been your favourite moment on the show?
From Season 5, that would be our vow renewal in episode 1. Also, reuniting with Sorisha and finding a way to a friendship again.
How do you feel about where you and Nonku stand today?
I’m appreciative of the years we spent together and the love I had for her. Unfortunately, people do change, and the things they want in life change, and that’s okay too. Maybe in the future we will get to speak, but for now, I have peace in knowing that I loved hard. The time we spent together, I saw as sisterhood, and I’m grateful for that. I wish her nothing but love and peace with whoever she chooses.
What do you hope for the group moving forward?
To maintain peace, find real healing for those who need it, and continue to grow as a group. As hectic as we all are together, it’s our little bond.
If there was a Season 6, who would be in your dream cast?
I think it’s best we let the professionals decide on whoever they think is best suited.
If Season 5 were a cosmetic procedure, what would it be and why?
A tummy tuck, painful AF, but worth it in the end.
