Takalani Sesame turns 21 this year, and to celebrate, Showmax is bringing the beloved local take on Sesame Street (the multi-award-winning US mega-show that’s been running for over 50 years and picked up 14 Emmy nominations this year alone) to our screens from this month.
Join the lovable three- (and-a-half, thank you very much!)-year-old Elmo and six-year-old Zuzu as they go on new adventures with their friends to find out what makes them special, and learn heaps of clever stuff along the way. Earlier this year, Takalani Sesame added a SAFTA Award for Best Children’s Programme to its accolades, which include a Peabody Award and the formal appointment of HIV+ character Kami as UNICEF’s Champion for Children.
