The 4 best (worst) villains SuperGirl has faced so far
From evil genius billionaires to Kryptonians, Kara Zor-El and her super-friends have done a fine job dealing with them in the past six seasons. Let’s look at some of them.
Anti-Monitor
The Anti-Monitor, also called Mobius, is the CW universe’s Thanos – a mighty being who wants to eradicate all lives and universes, including Supergirl’s Earth. Mobius destroys the multiverse using the antimatter cannon despite the best efforts of his counterpart, Monitor. And like The Avengers, a team of DC superheroes fight and defeat the Anti-Monitor and then replace the multiverse with a new one.
The event, tagged “Crisis on Infinite Earths” is a spectacular five-episode crossover across Supergirl, The Flash, Arrow and Legend of Tomorrow.
Lex Luthor
Lex Luthor is famously Superman’s – Supergirl’s cousin – archnemesis, but he’s also a thorn in Kara’s life. Lex is a billionaire and brilliant scientist who used to be Superman’s friend but later develops extreme hate for him and his kind. He believes they should not inhabit Earth and exploits his genius brains and deep pocket to creates weapons against Kryptonians. Lex even joins forces with Supergirl’s enemies and gets super abilities to become as powerful as Kara.
Reign
Reign is arguably Supergirl’s most formidable threat so far. She’s a World Killer – Kryptonian biological weapons created by Kara’s father to eliminate evil – who arrives on earth alongside Kara and Kal-El following the destruction of Krypton. During their first meeting, she mercilessly beats Kara into a coma – sending fear and hopelessness throughout National City.
Her power isn’t dependent on the yellow sun, and she can withstand kryptonite better than the El cousins. But what makes her more dangerous is the principles guiding her; she’s “born to cleanse the scourge and deliver the awakening” – in plain English, Earth is full of sinners, and she’s going to offer judgment in the Old Testament format.
Agent Liberty
Agent Liberty, aka Ben Lockwood, is a timely villain who reflect the xenophobia of 2018 America. He is a charming history professor at the National City University whose life is ruined by alien-related activities. After losing his home and father through the consequences of extraterrestrial attacks, he joins forces with Otis and Mercy Graves as Agent of Liberty with a mission to liberate humans from the Aliens’ supremacy on Earth. This results in clashes with Supergirl and her super friends.
