Think twice before committing murder in the Winelands
Die Boland Moorde is back for another season of murder, mystery and intrigue among the rich and powerful of the Cape Winelands. The gripping series follows officers Shane Williams and André Fourie, members of the Boland Research Unit specialising in murder cases. The new season airs in South Africa on kykNET, DStv channel 144 at 20:00 on 14 February and now’s the time to get ready for all the action and suspense by watching the complete first season, only on Showmax.
What to expect in season 2
In the latest season of Die Boland Moorde, Shane and André are faced with a range of fresh and puzzling cases – from a dangerous serial killer to an unplanned crime of passion. For South Africans living abroad, the latest season will be available exclusively to international Showmax subscribers.
New members on the team
Of course André and Shane don’t work alone, they have a committed team by their side. Colonel Khumalo is now at the head of the operation and Elise is the new office manager (who drives André up the wall).
Japie the brainy IT specialist is still around, while Busi has taken over as forensic specialist.
After Doc Le Roux’s retirement, a new pathologist joins the team, doctor Rachelle de Jager. She’s “way too chirpy for someone who works with dead bodies” according to Shane, but she manages to make André’s heart race in a peculiar way.
The bodies are piling up
There isn’t much time for romance though, because the bodies start piling up from the first episode. When it’s not members of a theatre company dying in strange ways, it’s the dark underworld of internet radio stations, art exhibitions and drugs on the university campus. But eventually André will have to confront his two greatest fears: women and candlelit dinners.
The top-class cast sees the return of Stian Bam and Brendon Daniels as the lieutenants, as well as Marlo Minnaar as Japie. Tinarie van Wyk Loots, Ebby Weyime and Nicole Holm join the cast as new characters.
Each episode is 90-minutes long and modelled after the traditional format of British whodunnits like Lewis, Midsomer Murders and Vera.
