Thuso Mbedu bags International Emmy nomination for her role in Is’thunzi
Thuso Mbedu is only 23 years old, and she’s already scored a nomination for an international award. The International Emmy Awards recognise excellence in TV shows that are produced and aired outside the United States, and Thuso was nominated for her role in Mzansi Magic drama Is’thunzi (available on the Showmax platform for subscribers living abroad). She found out about the nod earlier this week when SA TV veteran Thembi Mtshali-Jones congratulated her on Twitter.
There are a total of 44 International Emmy Awards nominees including Kenneth Branagh and Anna Friel, and the winners will be announced on 20 November.
Thuso also stars as Boni Khumalo in Mzansi Magic’s Saints and Sinners (Seasons 1 to 3 are now on Showmax).
Congratulations, Thuso – we’re so proud of you!
