Kwa Mam’Mkhize: Don’t be a victim of online scammers, warns Shauwn
Celebrities are sometimes faced with the hard task of having to deal with imposters on social media. This is something that happens all over the world and unfortunately, it doesn’t look like it’s going away any time soon. Shauwn Mkhize is experiencing this reality now that she’s opened up her life to Mzansi on her hit reality show.
The Kwa Mam’Mkhize star, who’s famous for being a wealthy businesswoman, has fallen victim to social media identity theft. On her recent episode, Shauwn spoke about the many online pages that have been created in her name. She told her friend, Tha, that there’s a fake Instagram account claiming that she sells Bitcoin. And that’s not where the madness ends. There are also claims that she assists people to raise capital in order to start businesses.
Imposters everywhere
“People have created fake accounts pretending to me be on Instagram and then solicit money. It is a lot. I am even alleged to be part of Bitcoin. My name is dragged into whatever has to do with money. Essentially, I am money,” she said on the show.
While there are people impersonating her on different platforms, that hasn’t stopped Shauwn from wanting to make a difference in other people’s lives through social media. She explained that since joining Instagram, she realised that a lot of people need help and that she’d like to know how to assist them so that they can be able to enrich their communities as well.
Her heart is clearly in the right place, despite all those who want to benefit from her fame and success. And just when we thought we had heard it all when it comes to people wanting to enrich themselves through Shauwn’s brand, she also revealed that there’s a man claiming to be her sangoma. He’s apparently charging a lot of money and is telling everyone that he’ll make them as rich as Shauwn.
It seems like Mam’Mkhize’s lifestyle has left a lot of people envious. We don’t blame them, though. But we wouldn’t go as far as scamming the nation in order to live like the rich and famous!
Kwa Mam’Mkhize airs Thursday night express from Mzansi Magic and express Showmax thereafter.
