No bathing, outrageous sex and more in Seng’khathele Season 4

Thirteen tired lovers confront their suspicious partners in reality show Seng’khathele Season 4, with all seasons now streaming on Showmax.

Seng’khathele sees frustrated partners confront their lovers before dumping them on national television. While presenter Lerato Mvelase attempts to diffuse the situation, each episode either ends in tears or leaves Lerato gobsmacked at what just happened.

Here are the most outrageous and unbelievable moments in Season 4 of Seng’khathele.

Abel pops the question

In the first episode, we see Rose ready to dump her boyfriend of 12 years, Abel. Besides cheating, Abel admits to being physically abusive and the abuse led Rose to attempt suicide several times. Rose thought that death was the only way out of their toxic relationship. She knows better now, and she seeks to be free and cut ties with him.

But when she tries to end things, Abel whips out an engagement ring in an attempt to change her mind. The nerve!

“With this ring, I promise to [never hurt you again],” says Abel. Rose isn’t fazed though, she is underwhelmed, to say the least. She rejects the proposal and walks away.

We stan a queen that knows her worth.

Nothing nice about Somnandi

Next, we meet Nandipha – another dumper who can’t wait to confront her estranged boyfriend, Somnandi. Ironically, Somnandi’s name means “enjoyable” in IsiZulu but nothing about this relationship has been enjoyable to Nandipha.

Here’s a short list of his offences: Somnandi is emotionally and physically abusive, he left Nandipha for a married woman when she was pregnant and when Nandipha tried to move on he ruined her other relationships. But that’s not where Somnandi’s antics end” in the episode, he tells Nandipha that he’s impregnated his married side-chick. The revelation is too much for Nandipha to process and she sheds a tear before exiting the room.

The most complicated relationship in Seng’khathele history

Lumkile ends his complicated relationship with Dukie to focus on his main girlfriend in episode 3. Yes, he has a girlfriend and Dukie is his side chick. What’s most surprising for Lerato is that Dukie is married and Lumkile’s girlfriend, on the other hand, has a partner. “Wow,” says Lerato, with her jaw on the ground.

Phuza Gogo is a no-no

William dumps his girlfriend Maria, who’s also known as Phuza Gogo, on the socials in episode 4. His decision comes after a video of Maria dancing on a roof while she was drunk went viral.

Although Mzansi adores her dance routines, William wants none of the Twitter spotlight. Hashtag it’s over. A teary William also raises his concerns about Maria’s drinking problem. He loves her dearly but can’t stand to see Maria drink herself into a stupor.

Thank you, next

When Tshepo ends his relationship with his serial cheater girlfriend Mmami, he doesn’t get the reaction he was expecting in episode 5. She doesn’t beg him for a second chance. However, she does apologise for terminating her pregnancy behind his back. After the split, Mmami heaves a sigh of relief. “That’s all I wanted to hear, thank you,” she says.

When love hurts

Lebohang is done with his relationship with Puleng and before he officially moves on, he confronts her in episode 6. Their relationship is filled with drama – not only did Puleng stab him with a mirror, but Lebohang also claims that Puleng cheated throughout their relationship. He even questions “their” child’s paternity.

Age is just a number for Mr Msomi

In Seng’khathele’s history, there has never been a couple who rekindled their relationship after a confrontation, but there’s a first time for everything, as we see in episode 7. Enter Clement Msomi – he might be 70 years old, but he is young at heart.

Mr Msomi suspects that his girlfriend Dimpho is cheating but she denies the allegations. In a twist, Dimpho explains that Mr Msomi hasn’t been entirely honest with her because she doesn’t know how old he is. When Lerato steps in and reveals Mr Msomi’s age, Dimpho’s eyes widen like she’s seen a ghost, leading Lerato to burst into laughter. “That’s too old, he is my mother’s age,” says Dimpho. In the end, the couple resolves their trust issues, and they plan a future together. Seriously, Dimpho, you really did not know his age?

Bongani plays the victim card

When Bongani meets Lerato, he paints his girlfriend Wendy as an inconsiderate and deceitful drunk in episode 8. As a result, he wants out of the relationship. But when she tells her side of the story, we learn that he had an affair with Wendy’s friend, who also is their neighbour, driving Wendy to turn to alcohol to cope with his infidelity.

The moment arrives for Bongani to dump Wendy and his delivery is harsh. “I’ve found a better woman, who understands me better than you do,” he says, leaving Wendy speechless. Ouch, that’s going to leave a mark.

Dirty lover

There’s so much to unpack with Phumzile and Melusi’s relationship in episode 9. He is controlling, abusive and possessive. And she shocks the country when she reveals that he doesn’t allow her to bathe unless he’s around … watching. She can no longer stay in such an unhealthy relationship.

Knees behind your head, dear

One man’s kink is another woman’s terror. We meet Amanda, who is out to leave Siya in episode 10. Apart from the domestic abuse, she can’t keep up with his bedroom demands. When Amanda tells Lerato about Siya’s various sex positions, the host holds back her desire to chuckle.

Alas, when you’re eating from the same dish, you can’t have it spicy if your partner wants ice cream. If you push this one too hard, someone could wind up having sex they don’t want, which is the worst. Enthusiastic consent is the sexiest.

She’s just not that into you

Thabiso and his girlfriend Langelihle are not on the same page, and for that reason, he wants to dump her in episode 11. Langelihle is always busy, and she hardly has time to see him, which leads him to think that she might be cheating. But he couldn’t be any further from the truth as Langelihle lost interest in him months ago – and she couldn’t bring herself to tell Thabiso.

During the split, Langelihle is unbothered. “You should’ve sent a text message,” she says. Basically, she means that he shouldn’t have gone through the effort of calling the show to end their romance, which is what she’s wanted for a long time. Yikes!

Mazwi is over and done

Although Mazwi has been dating Gugu for 10 years, he wants to end their relationship because he is convinced that she is seeing another man in episode 12. He explains that she pulls disappearing acts and lies about her whereabouts.

In Gugu’s defence, she works long hours and travels frequently with her colleagues to make ends meet but Mazwi doesn’t buy it. Gugu tells him that she isn’t going anywhere, and she wants to prove that she is faithful. Cue Jennifer Hudson’s smash hit “And I’m Telling You I’m Not Going”. All that’s left is for Gugu to recite the lyrics: “I’m staying, and you, and you, you’re gonna love me!”.

Cheaters never prosper

Season 4 ends with a bang! Throughout the season, we saw all kinds of infidelity: men cheating on women, women cheating on men, sides cheating on mains and everything in between. What a ride! And the cheating saga continues in episode 13, with Namhla and Mamello. Although Namhla has a girlfriend, she started dating her work wife, Mamello.

At the start of their affair, they were on cloud nine, but down the line Mamello demanded money and when Namhla refused, the former threatened to expose their tryst. During their chat, things get heated, and voices are raised.

And now, you’ll just have to Stream Seng’khathele  Season 4 on Showmax to find out what the two were yelling about.
