Still Breathing S1
In the series premiere of this beautiful and heartwarming drama, a group of friends reunite after tragedy strikes. Underneath the surface, all is not what it seems.
Love, friendship, complicated relationships, betrayal and long-kept secrets form the emotional crux of a tale about this circle of former friends who have drifted apart with the passage of time.
Starring Jane de Wet and Ty Keogh, both of whom you’ll recognise from The Girl From St Agnes; Kate Liquorish; Lorcia Cooper, who, of course, plays Tyson in Lockdown; and Siv Ngesi, in a rare dramatic role as a doctor who is struggling with his sense of self.
The SAFTA-winning director Johnny Barbuzano of The River helmed the series, and his wife Tiffany wrote the script and stars in the show, while their children Jamie and Jess Barbuzano make their acting debuts.
“When you’re born, it’s the first thing you do and when you leave, to start the next part of your soul’s journey – it’s the last thing,” says Tiffany, on the themes of the show, and they relate to the title. “As long as you’re still breathing, you’re the lucky one. You still have hope, no matter the circumstances.”
