Mandisa makes another terrible decision that ends up putting Nqoba and Sambulo at risk as she helps the Majola brothers step ahead of the Zulus’ sharpest assassin. Let’s unpack episodes 28-30 of The Wife Season 2, which is filled with action-packed scenes and a tragic end.
Episode 28 – Bab’ Ngcobo needs money for a new pair of lungs
Zandile celebrates the fact that her dad has found a lung donor, but this comes at a cost. Bab’ Ngcobo tells his daughter that the operation will require R300 000, and while Zandile is shocked at this amount, she assures her father that she will make a plan. One thing about Zandile – she will ask for a lot of money from Nkosana.
Nkosana confronts Bab’ Ngcobo
Cracks start to show in Bab’ Ngcobo’s pursuits of wealth and Nkosana is not convinced that he’s sick. He suspects that the old man is taking them for a fool and remembers that Bab’ Ngcobo once helped himself to Nkosana’s whiskey from the top of the office shelf. Nkosana was too busy to even notice what was happening in front of him at the time.
After having thought about it, he starts asking himself pertinent questions. Nkosana is convinced that Zandile’s father is up to something. How did Bab’ Ngcobo reach for the bottle if he’s in a wheelchair and cannot stand on his feet? When confronted about it, Bab’ Ngcobo fakes being sick until Nkosana gets angry and tries to force him to stand up, but Zandile walks in and stops her husband.
Mandisa forms an alliance with the Majola brothers
One of the Majola brothers, Geja, visits Mandisa to try to convince her to help them in removing Sambulo as the chairman of the taxi association. He reminds her that Sambulo is the one who removed Nqoba from the chairman’s seat.
Mandisa falls for his tricks and cooperates with the Majolas.
Episode 29 – Zandile stabs her father
Nkosana gives Zandile the money she was asking for so that she can pay for her father’s medication. Meanwhile, Hlomu did some digging and found that Bab’ Ngcobo is lying. When Zandile asks for clarity regarding his lungs, he threatens to send her back to jail.
Remember, Zandile told her father about how she escaped from jail. He finally stands up from his wheelchair and tries to run with a bag full of money, but Zandile grabs a knife and stabs him in the back.
Nqoba is held captive and Sambulo gets shot
As if burning millions wasn’t enough, Mandisa betrays the family once again. Every time Zandile thinks she’s doing things for love, it ends up hurting the ones she loves or putting them at risk.
With her assistance, the Majolas manage to set up Nqoba and Sambulo, so they can get caught and arrested for having illegal weapons in their office.
They escape the cops but a host of hitmen together with the Majolas catch them. Sambulo gets shot, and Nqoba is held captive.
Episode 30 – Nqoba suffers torture
It hasn’t been long since Nqoba got back from the hospital after being shot. His brothers get the shock of their lives when they receive a video call showing Nqoba being held captive and beaten to a pulp.
He’s also tied to a pole, tortured, and looking like he’s badly injured. When the Zulu brothers arrive on the scene, we see a stand-off between them and a horde of armed hitmen. After they realise that they are outnumbered they go on their knees, and moments after, a shot gets fired.
