Unmarried S2: Claudia’s husband is bad news
Claudia has quite a lot of skeletons in her closet and she doesn’t want them to come out. Since she came back home after being away for many years, she’s been putting up a facade and acting like things are going well in her life. As far as everyone is concerned, she decided to come back after Lesego’s death, but it turns out there’s much more to the story than what she’s prepared to reveal.
Claudia wants to reclaim her life
On the surface, Claudia is a typical trophy wife who gets everything she wants. However, her husband, who lives abroad, has made it impossible for her to survive on her own.
With no place to stay and not a single cent to her name, Claudia has been living with her friend Brenda, and has even resorted to selling some of her most prized items in order to stay afloat.
On the latest episode of Unmarried, she received a voice message from her husband, Viktor, who instructed her to come back home. “What are you doing, Claudia? You have no money, you have nothing. Come back home, darling. We can go back to the way things were. I’ve already sent you a plane ticket,” he told her.
However, she’s determined to make it on her own. She finally got enough courage to tell Thembi the truth about her rocky marriage and her plans to divorce her husband.
“I’m focusing on rebuilding my life, that’s why I came home… [Viktor’s] trembling wherever he is. He knows I’m going to take everything and leave him with just the clothes on his back.”
Will Claudia give in?
Claudia wants to reclaim all the time she “wasted” in her marriage. Although she did open up to Thembi about her marital issues, she didn’t tell her the whole truth. By the look of things, Claudia’s life is in danger and if she doesn’t go back to Viktor, things could end very badly. He’s threatened to kill her if she doesn’t keep her mouth shut about something she witnessed when they were together.
“I don’t play games, you know that. Tell, me, are you keeping your pretty little mouth shut? I want you on the next plane out,” he warned her.
It turns out, Claudia saw her husband shooting a man, and this could be part of the reason she left him. Not only that – he also cheated on her. But it won’t be easy for her to leave the marriage because it looks like Viktor is a man who doesn’t know how to take no for an answer.
