Unmarried: Should Thembi forget about her marriage?
One thing we’ve learned on the latest episode of Unmarried is that Brenda would actually love to be a mother. However, parenthood didn’t come to her in the package she had hoped for. As you’ve probably seen by now, her late friend, Lesego, decided to leave her only child with Brenda.
Don’t get it twisted, Brenda really loved her bestie and doesn’t mind looking after BK (for now). However, it seems she’s still stuck in the past and wonders what life would have been like if she had children of her own with her ex-partner, Donald.
Brenda wants her own kids
“I loved him, and I thought we were happy. My career was going well, we were trying to have a baby and I thought we had it all. The joke was on me. Now here I am, no husband and no baby,” Brenda told Thembi. It seems not having her own kids is something that makes her a bit emotional and she feels incomplete.
“When you’re a woman and you don’t have kids, people don’t see you. It doesn’t matter how successful you are or how much money you have or what business you’re in. They don’t see you.” To top it all off, Brenda is scared that she might not find someone who will love her even if she doesn’t have children.
Thembi and Bongani clash
If you think Brenda has issues, wait until you hear about Thembi’s problems! She’s still beating herself up for messing up her marriage and would give anything to have Bongani back. However, that won’t be such an easy task. The hope of saving her marriage is slowly disappearing.
Her daughter, Mbali, snuck out of the house to go to a party with her friends. She came back the following day accompanied by Bongani, which is not such a good look as he blames Thembi for their daughter’s little stunt. He also believes that she’s failed as a mother. Ouch!
Can Thembi catch a break? She’s been begging Bongani to forgive her for two whole years and he just doesn’t want to hear any of it. Is he being unreasonable? Watch new episodes of Unmarried S2 every Monday, express to Showmax from Mzansi Magic, to follow the story.
