Ajoche S1
Ajoche is set in 1918, when the Idoma emerged from the middle belt of Nigeria at a time when culture and tradition were celebrated. It’s a tale of war and duty, revenge and honour, love and lust as the people of Ocholuje embrace their destiny, uncovering some bitter truths and harsh realities as they fight for survival.
General Apeh hungers for a position of power that he was never destined for. With the help of his servant Bolum, Apeh planned and executed the murder of Odaleko’s pregnant wife and took the throne for himself. Alas, he that seizes power forcefully will never conquer it.
While others sought refuge from the king’s violence, one man sought to bring him down: Ajoche.
“Ajoche is a story of love, revenge, betrayal and power that captures your imagination and takes you on a journey through time. The story draws from a little-known but incredible time in our history, and we are excited to bring it to screens across Africa,” says M-Net West Africa’s regional director Wangi Mba-Uzoukwu.
Nigerian talent, James Omokwe, produced this gripping telenovela for Africa Magic. Look out for strong performances by Big Brother alumni Bassey, Tokunbo Idowu (T-Boss) and Lilian Afegbai. The cast also includes veterans Hilda Dokubo, Femi Branch, William Benson and Lota Chukwu.
