Binge Doctor Who S10 ahead of Comic Con Africa finale screening
Update: Doctor Who is no longer on Showmax.
Season 10 of Doctor Who has landed on Showmax, ahead of BBC Studios in Africa’s Doctor Who experience at Africa’s first-ever Comic Con this weekend.
Season 10 marks Whovians’ last chance to see Peter Capaldi as the 12th Doctor and also gives fans their first glimpse, in the finale, of award-winning actress Jodie Whittaker (Attack The Block, Broadchurch) as the new Doctor.
Expect the signature Dr Who mix of sci-fi action, wit, and thought-provoking social commentary in this final season under the helm of Emmy-winning lead writer and executive producer Steven Moffat (Sherlock). Season 10 was BBC America’s number one series, a top five highest-rated drama series for young adults in the UK, and the highest-rated show on Space in Canada.
At Comic Con Africa this weekend, BBC Studios in Africa, in partnership with Showmax, is hosting Africa’s first-ever Whovian meetup, with cosplay screenings of the Season 10 finale, to be held in screening room 2 – the Kyalami Conference Room – from 14-16 September 2018 between 13.00 and 14.00 CAT. An immersive experience in Doctor Who’s iconic time-travelling TARDIS will also be on site, packed with VR experiences, video games, trivia and fan giveaways.
Doctor Who holds the Guinness World Record as the world’s longest-running science-fiction series, spanning 55 years and winning over 100 awards. This quintessentially British show has a huge global following, with nine million fans across social platforms and 200 million video views on Facebook and YouTube.
Binge-watch Season 10 first and only on Showmax in Africa. Season 11, the first from new showrunner Chris Chibnall (Broadchurch), is exclusive to Showmax.
