Date My Family Nigeria: “I came here for a girlfriend and they’re already telling me about school fees”

A few minutes into the first dinner at this week’s episode of Date My Family: Nigeria, our bachelor Obiora Danielrock is asked if he earns enough to take care of Bridget, one of the episode’s bachelorettes.

“I hope you’re actually making enough to take care of my cousin?” Derick asks. “You need a lot to take care of Bridget considering the fact that she’s got a daughter who’s in school, and she has a whole lot of other responsibilities. So are you sure you’re able to shoulder all that?”

A stunned Obiora says, “I came here for a girlfriend—someone that I’m gonna date, probably marry—and they are already telling me about school fees.”

The questions on Obiora’s financial capabilities started when he told Bridget’s cousins that he is physiotherapist into acting, rapping and modelling. Yes, his range of jobs sounds strange, but why are they asking him to shoulder the responsibilities of another adult on the first date?

Well, Obiora has other options who won’t run his accounts empty. There is Foluke, a 21-year-old student of Yaba College of Education (YabaTech) who enjoys clubbing—the kind of lady Obiora likes. Also, there is the much older Chiamaka, a 30-year-old brand communication executive, who is big on sexual and mental compatibility, but Obiora prefers younger women. Who will Obiora pick? Watch Date My Family: Nigeria to find out.
