Dede versus the Robertsons

Dede has had plenty of highs, and only a few tops the Christine subplot. Fans of the show will remember Dede went undercover as the British trained Christine to uncover the conspiracy that led to her being accused of theft and sent to prison by the Robertsons. This subplot happened over several episodes of the Akwaaba Magic show and revealed how broken the Robertsons are. They are even more damaged than we think, and social media could not stop waxing over every revelation. From Patrick’s undying love for Dede to Rama’s not-so-little secret. Let’s look at some of our favorite moments from this period.

Rama Robertson: Dede’s handler

If you’ve seen Atomic Blonde or any female-led spy thriller, you know spies are tools guided by handlers. Rama was surprisingly Dede’s as she uncovers the dangerous conspiracy ongoing at the Robertson’s. She orchestrated the entire thing from day 1! Fans were excited to discover Rama was on Dede/Christine’s side because that ensures victory over Belinda and her messy gang.

However, things didn’t go as planned. Belinda somehow beat Dede by using a family secret against Rama, who denied her involvement in the mission. Poor Dede!

Patrick’s feelings for Dede

It was apparent Patrick liked Dede from day one. What we didn’t know was how much, and, Charlie, it is plenty! After Rama denied Dede, the Robertson sent her out again! Then Belinda and Lily went further: they told the village elders lies about Dede, which prompted an attack on Dede’s family. Fortunately, Patrick was around to save the day. He also took Dede and her family with him to the city – away from the villagers’ wrath.

Rama’s Dark Secret: Michael

Wondering what Belinda and co had on Rama? Michael. Apparently, Michael is the product of an affair, an illegitimate son Rama raised and loved as hers.

Rama denied her involvement in Mission Christine to prevent Michael from finding out, but unknown to her, he had known for a long time. When he revealed this to her, she sprang into action and proclaimed Dede innocent, a move Belinda, John, David and Lily didn’t see coming!

Lily: The Actual Golddigger

Lily first showed her hands when she left Michael at the altar because he was broke, only to return when he recovered. So, it is no surprise she jumped ship (again) upon learning Michael’s secret.
