Enakhé
In Enakhé, the setting of Benin City is almost a character on its own. The name Benin derives from the Yoruba words Ile Ibinu, meaning the house of anger. A home that is close to nature, culturally rich and underdeveloped. That is warm, welcoming and yet inherently violent. Just like the Iwinosa family.
Patriarch Osasere, known as Epa, is having money problems. His wife is no longer turning a blind eye to his infidelities and his rebellious daughter Enakhé is refusing her betrothal to an ally. Then Epa is gunned down at his daughter’s wedding, throwing the entire family into chaos.
When this larger than life man is revealed to be mortal, who dares step into the shoes of his legend? The very last person they expect, his daughter Enakhé, rises to fight the enemies in the present and those from her father’s past.
Enakhé must fill the shoes of her late and powerful father, but her world is turned completely upside down by the terrible secrets of his life. Who will she become on this dangerous journey?
