Flawsome episode 6 recap: “I am not always a damsel in distress”

A few things are happening in this episode of Flawsome.

Let us start with our resident sad girl, Ivie, who is feeling blue. While dealing with the shock of Poju emptying her account, Lerato fires her at a party for having an opinion – leaving her stranded. She calls Ifeyinwa, who is preoccupied with the possibility of her family business going public to prevent
bankruptcy.

Then comes Tersei, her knight in shining armour. He saves the day (again) and takes her home.

“I am not always a damsel in distress,” she tells him, but c’mon girl, you are!

“It just feels like my entire life is a mess,” she tells him. “Fashion was my life. Poju was my life, or would I say a huge piece of it.” Then her friends knock on the door, and she frantically tries to hide him.

Elsewhere, Dolapo continues her redemptive journey. First, she has gone against Abel – backing Ramat over her client. Everything Ranti said to her seems to have struck a chord. She is also offering her services for free to Dr. Smart, the self-made billionaire whose foundation helps poor kids in rural areas. He is organizing a non-profit fundraiser and having read about his charity, she is willing to help for free. It doesn’t sound like the capitalist Dolapo we have come to know. However, her good deeds are being repaid with disrespect from a man who thinks she finds him attractive.

He gropes her in front of her friends. He had done the same when they met at his office earlier. She is not new to jerks, but not even her worst clients dared bring their nonsense to her. And speaking of clients, Senator Jubril is at it again. After winning his primaries, he celebrates by hooking up with a girl who passes out during the action.

“You have just won your primaries for heaven’s sake, you are supposed to be more careful,”

Dolapo shouts at the randy senator, who hasn’t even called a doctor because he doesn’t want this to go out. She rebukes him.

“This is not the time to worry about your reputation!”

There is something different about her. Her priority is the girl’s safety instead of her client’s reputation, which shows we have a new Dolapo. After the doctor confirms the lady is fine, Dolapo tries to buy her silence only to find out her pimp is Madam Rose, the same one who got Ramat arrested earlier in the season. She has been supplying the senator with girls and he transfers their payment to her, leaving an electronic trail. That can only mean one thing.
