Flawsome episode 7 recap: “I am not selling!”
This is a Ramat episode. Her fears, joys, and nemesis, Madam Rose, loom large here. It opens with one of Madam Rose’s Diamonds narrating to Ramat and the police about their job and how it has drained her, so much that she bit a client during oral sex. The police say they are gathering evidence – as usual, it is not enough for Ramat – and their lethargy will become costly.
However, you can’t easily catch a pimp like Madam Rose, whose clientele includes wealthy politicians like senator Jubril. Himself and Dolapo are still quarrelling about his dealings with prostitutes, which he constantly denies. When she references the girl from a previous episode, he says she is not a prostitute.
“You know Madam Rose, a lot of celebrities work for her, so do you call them prostitutes?”
This last bit hints at how powerful this woman is, if her girls include celebrities and she supplies to wealthy Lagos men, then she has their secrets and can control them. A good example is how she handled the repulsive Abel. Apparently, Eve finding Ramat was a plan from the get-go because Abel “invaded her territory” and stole one of her girls.
The woman operates like an Italian mafia boss. She weaponizes information and her connection to get whatever she wants, and this has made her reign supreme for so long.
“I have been in this business for a very long time, and look at me, I am still operating,” she tells one of her Diamonds. “It is by what you know about people that you know, you get am? I will dig out their skeletons… and I will use those skeletons I know about them against them.”
Away from Madam Rose and Ramat’s woes, Ivie and Dolapo are glowing. Tersei is charming Ivie and giving her everything she’s asked for in a man while Dolapo, still on her redemption journey, is being swooned by a dashing young man.
The reverse is the case for Ifeyinwa, our tech sis isn’t having a good time. She must sell her father’s debt-ridden company, but she worries about her family’s legacy and their staff being laid off. She makes an emotional but moral decision; we will see if she sticks to it in the next episode.
