Igiza episode 13 recap: Justice will be served

There’s a famous saying about revenge: While seeking revenge, dig two graves — one for yourself. Revenge is certainly the name of the game in the final episode of Igiza, which is a rollercoaster ride of plot twists and drama-filled turns. Thirteen years ago, Linda framed her twin sister Nicole for a crime she didn’t commit. Newly escaped from prison, Nicole is determined to get her revenge and sets off a series of events culminating in an epic finale that’ll leave her wanting more!

Serah Ndanu as Nicole

Dom, who is holding Ian hostage, wants to avenge his mother’s murder. But when Linda arrives and he finally has the opportunity to settle the score, he can’t bring himself to pull the trigger. Nicole faces a similar crisis of conscience. She puts her vengeance aside to save Linda and Ian but can’t bring herself to forgive her sister for betraying her all those years ago.

Meanwhile, Reggie and Dom have plans of their own to betray Chris, but their attempt ends in bloodshed when David, thinking he has the upper hand, is taken down in a surprise move by Chris.

Eddie Mbugua as Chris

Musa, too, is betrayed. Senje, the scorned prison guard who was so callously cast aside by Musa, turns whistleblower on the prison warden when she discloses his illegal dealings to the press. Musa’s story ends in one of the most satisfying scenes yet when the character we love to hate finally gets his comeuppance.

Then there’s the unlikely hero, Detective Maureen, who we first met as Linda’s timid personal assistant (but who was undercover). In a classic sting operation, Detective Maureen leads a task force to Chris’ hideout and takes him into custody. But with his power and connections, it won’t be that easy to put him behind bars.

What started as a case of stolen identities ends in a tragic moment of mistaken identity when Reggie, thinking he’s finally getting rid of Nicole, shoots his wife instead. Nicole is left devastated by her sister’s death and shoots Reggie.

The series ends with Dom, Nicole, and Ian standing at the graves of Salome and Linda… only it’s Nicole’s name on the gravestone. We know that from this moment on, Nicole will pretend to be Linda and walk forever in her sister’s shoes, so that Ian won’t be a motherless son.

It’s a goosebump moment. Trust us, you don’t want to miss it!
